sleep? what the fuck is sleep?

so another day, just realized didn't know what day it was, its like freakin' groundhog day here (ref to the Bill Murray flick). Thank god for loud punk music and coffee...
speaking of which, need more.
its snowing out, can I go home and sleep? answer..no, for sure when I do cut out early, someone calls and accuses me of slacking... slacking sounds pretty good right now, might have to wander to high west tonight and see my favorite bar tender in the whole world.. : )
more titanium today, then some steel....

custom decal with your signature for your bike...

okay, if you googled this because you want a sticker like this for your bike, stop reading...now.
I recently did a bike for this fellow that wanted his signature on the bike, holy fucking shit that is lame, lame lame. I, in the name of rent, and food, agreed to this. It was humiliating to ask my decal guys to do this.
The pathetic part, is that this person didn't design nor did he build his bike. I don't really care if my name appears on the frames, but even if I did, it wouldn't be my signature!
If you feel offended, good. Get a sharpie out, and scribble your name on your top tube or wherever, and then see how long it takes before you are cracking out the acetone to wipe it off.
As for this guy, good luck, it was placed under the requisite metallic flake clear coat he wanted over the top...ugh.

buy livewrong tee shirt here!

so made some more of these beauties for the folks out there looking to let that assclown know what a collossal douche he is.
On other notes, fall is rolling in and I am cranking on some cross frames this week. Why is it folks must have such spendy rides for cross? I can remember when having STI on your bike (or ergo for you campy fags)(or Sachs, for you retro grouch assclowns like me!) was considered high brow. I got my ass chewed by the guy I was riding for (don't get pissy, it was a free loaner frame and I never considered it anything more) when I dumped his bike after a swap in the pits while racing at Umass. Anyhow, if you are going out and buying new stuff to hang on a cross bike, perhaps you ought to consider just how strange you are.
While on the subject of strange, apparently I unknowlingly annoyed a customer the other day when I commented on the temperatures getting colder. A friend, Jeremy, was present and started to laugh the moment the woman left, telling me she immediately did a self inspection of her chest (I said 'cold', not nippy you sick bastards!). Anyhow, good thing I didn't pick up on it, I would have lost my composure for sure. If the lady that had that moment of misplaced self conciousness reads this, I am very sorry, I was actually talking about the air temps.
Lastly, while I have your attention, let me gripe about shipping. Folks, don't ask me to EVER ship your bike overnight. I cannot think of any moment in the world when shipping something like that by air overnight was remotely justifiable. This thing, this toy, is not worth the cost or frustration, or most importantly, the WASTE that results from such a venture. Stop being so damn lame and be patient, its like a cheap date where you get a homerun on the first date, the anticipation and all that is lost the moment it arrives (and the bill is probably as close as you can get to the medical care you will require afterwards too). Horrible analogy, but what can you expect from a tool like me.
Stay tuned for more drivel, or just come by the shop and get it in person... just don't look at your nipples if I say its cold out, if they are nipping out I will just tell you.

bicycle spaceship and bicyclespaceship.com

well, it is a twist in the never ending saga to get some form of business rolling. I have started up this business with jeremy and it will occupy the neighboring shop space originally set for retail. We will focus on consignment of new and used bikes, components and frames.
Come one, come all, save money ...and make money! yay!
thanks to kevin neirman for doing the artwork, you are the man kevin!

tour des suds 2011

just put the final touches on the tour des suds bike! what a great bike I must say, and for a great cause. Shit, if you own a shop in this town and are selling and servicing bikes its nuts not to contribute what you can. I honestly am way too broke to donate 2k, but I can donate my labor and some time to build up a bike frame and some parts, and broker some help from quality bicycle products to get the rest set. (thanks quality!)
I had a great ride yesterday, my one day off a month, and was reminded how happy I am to be here. Its expensive to live here, but rich folks need poor folks to do menial work right?
Getting ready for winter, added a new website to show off what hopefully will be an excellent collection of bikes, frames and parts on consignment to help folks who just love to hunt for bits.
Its pouring rain out, looks like I am driving tonight...

August Park City Single Speed Time Trial 25th of August..

just a heads up, the second time trial is set for the 25th of this month. The meeting spot is at the parking lot at quinns junction (by the NAC). The start line is located in the bike path tunnel that cuts under kearns boulevard and we will start at 6pm. Interval start will be staggered by number of folks we get signed in, but at a minimum 1 minute intervals...
Donations only, all goes to mountain trails foundation, and we will do the awards right after the event at high west distillery.

early hours...

its always best to get up early, right? it has been a 4am start to the day, with titanium on the menu, its not that I need to, I want to get up and do this. Get'er done is the motto, catch up on long overdue stuff and take on new stuff, gotta pay rent, gotta eat...
on a side note, recommend a respirator when using a beartex wheel, unless you like coating your lungs with the stuff...

titanium singlespeed with a lefty? get your Titanium lefty head tube here!

sounds like a porn name if you ask me. Salt Lake local Greg Steele ordered this rig for an upcoming event, and as usual I am powering forward at full speed to knock it out. Today will see some metal actually get stuck together.
The real ass kicker is the head tube, the spec requires me to use essentially a pipe to achieve the proper size. I am not looking forward to turning this thing to size, as it will not only take time, but more importantly a shit ton of the VERY expensive material will hit the floor in the process.
Its 6am, time to get to the shop.
I will have extra head tubes, so if you need one for a Canondale lefty in ti please call, and thanks to the crew at Form cycles for the hookup, will send you that dropout next week when the dust settles.

singlespeed time trial park city, july 28th at 6pm (2011)

okay, so since google crawls blogs so well its time to make sure this post gets found. The park city singlespeed society will be hosting the first annual, and one of many to come, underground races next week! go to the website to sign up as the slots will be limited.
Bring your sense of humor, leave your lycra at home, and bring your bike. Singlespeeds only, but I will lock out your derailleurs for the event (a harmless and reverseable function) for free, so you can get the experience. Be ready for a suprise event midway on the course.
Entry fee is free, but we'll be passing the bucket to take donations to go to the moutain trails foundation, so grab your spare change or put aside a few bucks for a good cause!
So come on out, the awards party will be right after the event at the High West Saloon in old town Park City, conveniently located just down the street from the finish line.

buy livewrong tee shirt here!

so its time, shirts are done and ready to go!
Shirts come in medium and large, black with white print, and are 20 bucks each; a small price to pay for the joy of letting folks know where you stand. I have had mine from the original batch sold back in '04 and have offended and made folks laugh all over the world.

Better hurry, they won't last long.

resale value...

A recent customer spent a few days, well perhaps a week..driving me up a wall about buying a bike from me. The most interesting part was how he told me that he could buy a BH road bike from a friend with a 'connection' at a much smaller price; clearly in an attempt to get me to lower mine. It was a great tactic, although a bit cliche.
The real kicker was when he asked about 'resale value', more to the point was if the bike would gain value in time. Holy shit, is this a house? have my bikes gone on a publicly traded market that dips and rises in value based on the amount of money the fed is willing to back for lending to buy them? am I charging too little?
Gimme a break. These are bicycles, metal things cut and welded (or glued) together to make something fun that can provide an escape from the realities of life. Do the guys that wear full lycra team kits out there actually think they are riding professionally? no, of course not, but they are escaping life for a bit and that is awesome!
The guy bought the bike (pic above), and busted my balls for a free computer and water bottle and anything else I could offer him, and I took care of him, because hopefully after all the sales bullshit is over, that person will be out riding and suddenly realize how much fun riding is.
Group hug is over, time to work

ski lift chair swing for the yard from park city resort!

so the weekend was sort of a blur, with nights ending around 10:30-11pm and starting around 7:30, ugh. I had two ski chairs from park city mountain resort that needed custom swing frames made for them so they could be set up at their new owner's home.
Unlike some folks who do this, I wanted a set up that could be broken down for storage or at the very least be easy to move around.
The top of the thing detaches from the legs and the chair can be unhooked from the chain, pretty sweet.
I spent more damn time grinding off the remaining weldement from the original main support arm that ties the chair to the lift cable, impressive structure and it makes me quite confident in chairlift strength for sure! Oddly enough, there were no drain holes though, which seems odd since it prevents the water from draining out over time.
Anyhow, if you or someone you know needs one give me a shout, 400 bucks is the price (for the rig, chair not included, you are on your own with that one...things are like gold around here).
shit, hope I left the alarm on!

park city drunk crit, any bike can enter!!!!

so just realized that some folks were wondering if they could attend the event without a singlespeed, the answer is yes!! the event is open to any bike, the least appropriate bike the better!!! remember, we will be making one award for the coolest thing..whatever that is.
Todd and Jen braved the heat to get the course worked up yesterday, rest assured they did an awesome job! thanks guys!
so come call in to sign up, its a private event so entry is limited and you must be 21 to enter. We will do a kids version as well (obviously no beer) so don't burn up good money on a baby sitter.
here is todd rigging up the drag for the four wheeler to lay out the course with

seriously, what the hell is sleep?!

so its another early  morning and I am dragging to get my arse to work after another 14 hour day yesterday.  I thought about actually writing a list of what I do everyday to understand why I am so worn down sometimes. Yesterday included driving to west valley and salt lake to pick up materials (80 feet of schedule 40 pipe), then off to shop for meet ups with customers, build up some wheels, then build up the bike they are going on, meet with consultant for new carbon project, then work on ski lift chair swings that have been sitting on the to do list for weeks now. ugh. poor me eh? ha ha.
On a side note, what the hell is wrong with the world when I have to file for a permit 6 weeks in advance to have 30 friends meet for a private ride on park city mountain resort property? what should have been just a simple thing turned into some kind of multi layered process that was given a poor likliehood of approval, but still requiring a proposal. Shit, give me a break folks. I think some people just want to be a stick in the mud. The time trial is still on, but rest assured not anywhere close to park city mountain resort.
New stuff to come, but here is a shot of Brad D's new titanium full suspension bike, super sweet! Hopefully Brad feels the same way!
Go ride, and don't forget to come to the drunk crit next week, which is approximately 8 miles northest of the property lines of park city mountain resort.

drunk crit coming soon, are you signed up?

well we are about a week away, and today jen and I made the trophies for the drunk crit and for the time trial. The crit is by invite, so you gotta rsvp, dont' want some crazy riff raff rolling in and messing up the joint!
The time trial is set for the 28th, at 6pm, five miles of awesome riding with a party at the end....who could not get on that.
The time trial is singlespeed only, but show up with your geared bike and I will lock out your derailleurs for you so you can still join in the fun!
Call the shop or email to sign up!
Still making bikes in the mix, finsihing up a ti full suspension for Brad, a ti road for John, and a few others as well...sleep, what the hell is that?

Drunk Crit, sign up now

okay so the drunk crit is set for next friday, the 23rd! donations will be accepted, with all proceeds going to the mountain trails foundation! any bike is allowed, prizes and cool stuff and free beer.
yay!

livewrong shirts...

okay, so enough folks have asked me where I got mine, and given that the douchebag is now getting into hot water with doping alegations, its time to get off my arse and offer these things, under threat of copywrite infringement from some assclown who ''owns'' the name and from the lance foundation...but do you think I care...(rhetorical)
SO- get yer order in for livewrong tees now! black with white printing across the chest, 20 bucks each on full cotton.
Email or call for info..

stans fluid

yo, just a quick reminder on tire sealant for you tubeless folks....
1) use a compressor and over inflate slightly
2) use soapy water to help seat the bead, but not too much, just enough to help the tire slide into place
3) WEAR SAFETY GLASSES, or at least some cool sunglasses, because the shit will get into your eyes if it hops the bead, and it stings.
Also, more for shops than for home mechanics, wipe up the spillage if you are just too darn shaky to put it in correctly, nothing more lame than a nice wheel with what looks like dried barf on the rim..
yay.

park city single speed society

so its official, well in a 'from the hip format', edwin cycles has its own ride group for the singlespeeders in town! unlike some groups rides, we will have some events that will be posted here on the blog as well as the facebook page, to include our drunk dirt crit and a time trial for the month of june.
Drunk Dirt Crit is set for July 16th at 6PM right here at the shop (well, across the street). It is cyclocross format and you better bring a helmet or we will loan you one and you won't like it.
Entry fee is a donation of your choice which will go to our good buds at the mountain trails foundation, so ante up!
Call the shop for info and make sure to visit the group facebook page from the edwin cycles facebook page, and forgive me for all the techno geek drivel!!!

orange you glad you got a bike?

ha ha, sweet. I hope that the person who is getting this bike likes it! it looks fun and is super easy to spot. This bike is the first one to use the 'kinked' downtube set up for crown clearance, like the way it came together.
I had to 'freestyle' the layout, as picking up the joint location via my computer program was too time consuming given I had to recreate the tube in the drawing first, so I did it the old fashioned way! yay me.
Working on some new stuff, the seat stay crowns and mating dropouts feature radiused cuts for the bullets that will tension weld into the seat and chainstays, can you say invisible joint? fully plan to sell these to other builders looking for a leg up on the asian onslaught (is that spelled right?) ''designed in the usa''.
Also have some other fixtures to appear, backpurgeble chaistay fixture is on the short horizon.
Finally catching up on orders too, some patient folks out there, and some not so patient ones...but all are squared away now. From now on I am not in the custom frame business, doing stock only for the next few months.
Lastly, was witness to how shitty customer service can be. A shop owner, local, who sold an incredibly overpriced set of road brakes to a friend of mine, declined to help him with installation and even went so far as to claim the brakes were 'white anodized'. Holy shit, well don't worry mr. ''shop owner'' I fixed your mess and would like to point out that there is no such thing as white anodize per se, unless it came out of a rattle can (clearly the case as the paint was flaking off just from handling the things).
In a more happy note, as I cannot leave you with some depressing drivel, we are forming a single speed society here in park city that will feature secret events and all the coolness and irreverence you can handle. Stay tuned! first event is coming soon!

sleep...

so its been rather epic lately! the addition of offering full service and repair on bikes plus the retail, plus the coffee, plus the day to day office stuff...oh, and yeah the frame building too! ha ha. I am on the hunt for something stronger than caffeine, ideas?
Been dealing some issues with alignment on a couple frames, quite frustrating, and of course the issue of time management. NOTE- if you claim to be an experienced mechanic, don't fail to be...its just plain rude.
Well best get back to the grind, stay tuned for more pics soon!

showers! we need showers! and an employee locker room....

so I had the lovely joy of reading what used to be my favorite mag, dirt rag, until they turned into another damn collection of ads...and forgot about my lifetime subscription, probably regretting offering that to readers now huh?
anyhow, enjoyed a little blurb about independent fabrications and the move to New Hampshire. I guess its fair to say that my suspicions about the popularity of the move would be not so hot, and frankly I have no business commenting on a situation I am not truly involved in (thank fucking god). But, since this is my blog, and only nine folks follow it, who cares...
So, the funniest thing was the stupid comment about how great it will be to have an employee locker room and somewhere for customers to watch their frame be built and have it delivered to their hotel room on the coast.
Wow, what a colossal line of horseshit! really? locker room? what is next? snazzy polo shirts with your name and the if logo on it? maybe a full color employee manual? leave it to the corporate world to find a way to turn a truly amazing company that kicks out great bikes and make it vanilla.
The extra funny part is that someone with all that awesome college education, and 'real world experience' can't just leave it be. I guess you have truly arrived when you work somewhere with an employee locker room where you can don your ''uniform''...not very independent if you ask me mr awesome corporate douchebag.
On an equally sad note, Merlin has also been bought by an online retailer and will likely be moving out of Mass as well, the CEO even hinted (new CEO) that he will '' do everything possible'' to keep the production stateside.
If you wonder why my bikes are less than these guys here is a solid reason...
I don't have an employee locker room to pay for... ha ha...
fuck you corporate douchebags....

new space, new problems....but not too bad!

well, been super busy with the shop expansion project...at the expense of delivering a few bikes on time. Sadly I had no choice as I was rapidly outgrowing the original space and needed to have some room to work and store frames and show stuff without creating a literal obstacle course for folks! ugh.
So, the past weekend was spent doing a marathon session of moving stuff, painting, fixturing, and of course more forklifting..feel like hell now, but its all worth it.
So, special thanks to Ryan, Jeremy, and Billy for all your help!
When you are around come on by the new digs!!!

Ta Chen, chinese for fuck you doug!

ugh, long day of welding up some fine chinese stainless tubing for a friend. The stuff is supposed to be part of some massive outdoor structure, amazing I am sure. Anyhow, it took me about 6 hours to weld up the small bits and after breathing all those lovely fumes associated with welding metal I feel like total crap.
The good news is that this is done, and I can get on making bikes for those who are patiently waiting.
I have another surprise, but going to keep it under my hat until its set...
stay tuned....

ti carbon...

I think eric is the only person that reads my drivel, so better post a pic of his new ride.....
if you are mad about the late snowstorm that hit in New Hampshire, you can blame Eric! ha ha..

free healthcare...

dang it, figures, I always manage a few trips to the ER every year, I pay for insurance, but of course it still is spendy...
might have to start searching for a doctor that will trade for bike stuff...
gotta love soft tissue injury!

frame repair time?

just wrapped up a repair on a rusted out seat tube on an old fat chance yo eddy, it had rusted through down by the bottom bracket area...sad day. All better now though, and ready for more good times. Rates vary on this kind of thing, but its affordable and will ensure you keep your rig rolling along!

cross bikes...

so forgot to mention that in addition to building the widgets, I was bending cross chainstays for some new orders, (btw- have one left...takers?)
The new ones will feature an s-bend that will allow for up to a 1.95 tire to be put on, thus a 29er/cross ala indecision bike is born! I just have to think that someone with a cross bike will either at some point entertain the idea of putting on bigger tires for a 29er experience, or will sell the thing and someone else will!
The question is, should I build these with 130 or 135 rear ends? I think the best option is 135, mainly because before all the 'jonny come lately' types showed up on the scene things were 135...shit, I remember when Tom Ritchey would send out prebuilt wheels that featured ultegra hubs with 135 mm axles! god damn those were awesome wheels!
Anyhow, would like some input here...
pics are of the process, using my super awesome tubing bender to shape the stays....hmmmm, german made tubing!

dang it bobby...

making progress on multiple fronts at the same time....yesterday was a tough one with making some modifications to my fixtures and bending chainstays. You know you are sleep deprived when someone orders a cross bike and you send them a design for a road bike, more coffee required.
Been enjoying reading mindless drivel from bicyce retailer (aka-velonews), I paid for this? for some reason an american talking about the great advances in production his company has made in taiwan is just plain nuts to me. I guess we will all be folding sweaters at the gap at this rate. I seem to recall a time in the 80's when I wanted to attend the vocational program but was pushed to 'college prep' classes instead. Well, here I am more than 20 years later and the only benefit of the college prep classes was typing (so I can waste valuable time wringing out my soul on this thing..ha ha ). I had someone ask me if I was an engineer a few days ago, I replied...''are you kidding? my dad is an engineer and would have killed me if I wasted that education on this stuff''
Picutred is some engineering for ya, had to modify my main tube mitering fixture to get the correct elevation and more alignment range to accomodate the clamping block that I replaced. I love milling aluminum! looks like a robot face too.
Thanks Don Ferris for keeping the numbers simple on centers...and in SAE!

argon.....

A few weeks ago I discovered that my purge set up with insufficient and resulted in having to completely re-build a frame. Cost aside, the most important thing is that I can sleep at night knowing the frame was built well and can hold up. I get the occasional comment about how much a frame (or stem) costs and it usually can roll over my shoulders, but this is annoying. The fact is that things are expensive for a reason, surely not to finance my crappy 2007 pick up truck that is slowly dying, or my condo on the beach. Argon costs me 120 bucks a bottle, I got through half of one just building a frame, 60 bucks right there, add in titanium at an average price of 1.69 an inch (roughly 200 bucks for a standard frame), then the cost of the bits like seat tube insert, guides, bb shell....and you add an additional 110 bucks. Time, well, that is usually about 4-6 hours. Am I to assume that your cheap ass wants a cheap frame because you think I make too much? or you just don't care about your health? maybe if we weren't all slathered in cheap consumer goods sold by the pound we would get it huh? ha ha..
I offer titanium stems now, and yes...expensive. But if you are one of those folks who prefers to have something super nice that accents your ride than you will get it, if you are focused on weight and cost well you will never get it. The stem weighs the same as a ritchey wcs stem, but is TITANIUM and made FOR YOU, one at a time...not forged en'masse. A thompson may cost half as much Warwick (yes, identifying you now) but its not titanium, which costs a shit ton more than aluminum.
The new purge rig is pictured above, yay, works like a charm...

new headbadges....yeah, we need badges...so do you..

does anyone really read this thing, and why is it so hard for me not to swear on this blog? got to remain clean, must not swear....sh$%, ha ha...
new headbadges are available now, will be standard on all edwin frames, no more waiting for them to be made in philly, sorry Jen Green.
The badges are milled out of solid brass plate and have a radiused backside for mounting..

titanium stems, you need one...

just got done doing up a titanium stem, looks good, quite light (duh, its titanium)...these things will sell well I am sure.
Price each is 150.00,  yay...titanium.

fatties .....

sometimes you have to ride something with skinny tires...it is fun...now wearing lycra, well...that is a different story.
This is eric loverings new road frame, full 3.25 titanium tubing with come carbon tubing thrown in for good measure..stay tuned.

ti frame time

just finished up a nice little titanium frame for Melissa out of Texas...this thing came out quite nice! the fun part as the issues of dealing with adequate purge, ended up building some new fixtures to flood argon into the frame and a nice little dropout shield as well. Such a treat to weld titanium, just nerve wracking... there is NO hiding of your work under layers of paint...like wearing no pants...

moots is king

Nate working at Moots....Nate used to work with me at edwin. Nice shop man!

titanium...

welding up a few titanium bikes this week, always a pleasure to work with the stuff! its funny how folks seem more interested in carbon, not sure the exact reason. Some folks claim weight, but I think the main thing is the fact it is so swoopy and shaped. I have a hard time not admiring Time's frames, they are a pure example of function and art...
If you get a hankering for titanium though, give a shout! had to scramble to find a new supplier for titanium after Tisport stopped distributing it. Thankfully, I found a  good source, but to get the price right I had to buy quite a bit...QUITE a bit. I cannot whine, as titanium manufacturers and brokers like large orders since its a pain in the ass to make the stuff and its always better to sell more.
So, if you were thinking titanium, this is a good time to call....

bmx frames

so while there isn't alot of demand, I seem to be staring at a good amount of bmx tubing I bought for a customer that faded away and left me with a ton of inventory. I am inclined to just build this stuff into some frames and liquidate it to make room for some good stuff...
takers?

kevin neirman saves the day again!

got hammered with a ton of stuff yesterday, to include submitting an ad for the local paper (the park record). I wanted to get this done, but frankly was up to my eyeballs with alot of ongoing stuff in the shop at the same time, so I emailed the venerable Kevin Neirman to see if he could bail me out (again!),
he did, and by god, its outstanding!
I hope this translates into some business!

cutting with the new fixture....

just a quick update, added a new fitting to the old anvil main tube mitering fixture, this thing is fantastic, allowing me to miter with NO movement of the tubes for chatter proof precision...yay!
got a ton of bikes to wrap up now...

bend it!

okay, so a minor headache ensued last week after finding out that my main source of titanium tubing was closing up, and that the availability of pre-bent chain and seat stays was nada...ugh. So, what do you do? build your own damn fixture right? easier said than done! the issues of bending thin wall tubing to tight radius's is no small feat. The concoctions of sand filling or using ice to keep the tube from collapsing are nice, but not my style...why not make something that works great?
Enter my buddy and edwin 'saver of the day' john o'connor, who I consider to be a huge part of the whole edwin program. John and I spent quite a bit of time discussing and obsessing on this and all credit should go to john for the final design. This thing is unlike other benders, in that it pulls the tube through the mandrel instead of forcing it to 'sit' onto the mandrel...anyhow, it works great and means that the newer and final edwin design for stays is now attainable.
The problem with being in this business, aside from the lack of sustainable profits, is the cost of developing and making the things that not only bring about the product, but the path to finding what designs capture your image and stand out. Frankly the bullshit meter pings when I see all the same things coming round and round with regards to design, hell, with a good marketing team and some snazzy pics of some shaven leg unich and a great tag line, I could probably bring hi-tensile steel frames to market with 35'' wheels touting how much faster you can go on big wheels...hmmmm, a thought.
but, as usual, I go off on a tangent..
The bender will be a big part of things here, and I hope to find other builders in the same spot I was in last week who would like to have me make their tubes for them rather than buy one, of course they are for sale too....so don't be shy...
okay, time to work now...

coffee is here, who wants some???

okay, have a ton of coffee now, the delivery was impressive, getting it off the truck was like wrestling a fat guy! anyhow, started roasting into the evening last nite and have enough to fill orders for awhile (but hopefully not too long!)
coffee is 8.50 a pound direct from the shop, that is 3 bucks less than the closest competitor and you can be assured it is roasted within a week of your order....
yay...

edwin cycles dirt jump frame!

here is the painted edwin DJ frame, this little guy will fit a 120 mm travel fork and features a 22'' top tube!
yours for only 350.00

Carbon 29er frames!

here is a snappy of the latest addition! these are steel lugs joined to carbon tubes! The frame pictured is a medium and weighs 3.1 pounds! yes, that is weighed on a digital scale!
The carbon tubing is made by edge (or now enve, thanks to some douchebag euro folks who won't let them use the name... without the requisite massive amount of money...they were better about it than I would have been...but I digress). I am lucky enough that I can call in and have the tubes made to my specification, how about that?
So, here is the best part, I am offering these frames for 850.00...
titanium lugs available, these will run you an additional 400 dollars...thats 1250 if you are mathematically  challenged like me..

titanium time...

so after a slight hiatus from blogging I am back! we are a visual society and it seems like the pics I post end up being searchable by google, and that is pretty cool, since I know pictures can sell better than my mindless drivel.
As of late, I am completing a batch of titanium, and have completed the carbon steel 29er frames ordered.
Additionally, I have been working with Johnny Oconnor on revamping my tooling for a more production type operation to ensure more repeatability. Why? so that I can fill orders faster by having stock frames on hand and keep rear ends on hand...yes, I said something about hand and rear end...(insert beavis laugh)
To entice folks into the edwin fold I have reduced prices, and they will stay there, because it is absolutely nuts to pay twice as much for the same thing I offer, but mainly because the whole point of edwin is to offer that custom feel and uniqueness to everyone, not just the rich guy that bought it as a status symbol.
Have to watch what I say here, it is the internet...
Anyhow, stay tuned for updates!

shop is open for business....come on by! tell your friends!

edwin shop address link, click here

new tee shirts are in, and the shop is coming together nicely!

The new edwin tee shirts showed today, totally a luxury purchase, but what the hell right? I am so happy with them because they have the awesome artwork that Kevin Nierman did for me, super cool!
Been busy with getting the last bits of the shop set up, and of course built seven frames in the past week, they go to paint tomorrow! I am obviously tired, but happy to be making progress.
The retail and repair side of things is something I am looking forward to. Its funny that I didn't just do this from the start, but perhaps its like all good things... they take time.
New things are brewing, the carbon and steel frames, and new rigid forks too! I am interested to see how these come out and will post pics.
The weather has been great and I can see riders out and about everyday now, time for me to start riding too! I am so happy to be finally set up in park city, with a great shop and a great community to do business with. If you are ever in the area, please come on by, just type in edwin cycles in google maps and you will get the address.
